edenton coffee house

The Edenton Coffee House at 302 S Broad.

Edenton Coffee House is located in the heart of historic downtown Edenton, the county seat of Chowan County. The coffee house was established in 2003 as Acoustic Coffee - a coffee shop and music venue - which quickly became the unofficial “town hall” for many Edenton residents. In 2007 the name was changed to Edenton Coffee House Bakery and Cafe. At this time a lunch menu was added along with the addition of art and jewelry made by local artists. “The Garden of Readin’ the Used Book Shop in Edenton” opened inside the coffee shop in 2009 providing a wide selection of gently used books.

Edenton Coffee House continues to grow and change in order to provide quality products and service to the residents of Edenton, Chowan County, and the Albemarle Region of Northeastern North Carolina. Come in and sit a spell. Our roomy establishment provides the perfect spot to visit with friends, meet a business client, or even have a small group meeting while enjoying breakfast, lunch, or a snack.

Edenton was established as the first colonial capitol of North Carolina in 1728. The Edenton Tea Party of 1774 is recognized as the first political action taken by women. Edenton is full of original 1700 and 1800 buildings and homes to be enjoyed through walking tours, garden tours, and home tours throughout the year. If you love old homes, don’t miss Edenton’s Christmas Candlelight Tour or the Edenton Pilgrimage Tour.

Nature and outdoor enthusiast also love Edenton. The Chowan River, Albemarle Sound, and Edenton Bay offer opportunities for paddling, fishing, and other boating activities. The abundant wildlife can be observed and appreciated on paddling trails, while camping on Holiday Island, and in the many trees in our parks and backyards gardens.

Come see why Edenton is often called “The South’s Prettiest Small Town.”
